Cdr. Marcell CONWAY, (1897 - 1993) our eleventh post commander (1929). He served in WWI from May, 1918 to February 1919 in the U.S. Navy aviation forces. He was an attorney and property owner in the Barre area, admitted to the BAR in 1922 and practiced until, apparently, about 1934. In 1933, he was charged with embezzlement of a local war veterans funds - disposition of the case was not found. He was VT State Commander in 1930 and very active in American Legion affairs.
