ROBERT BURNS MACKIE (1891-1935) the fourth commander of Post 10 (1922).   He enlisted in the US Army on 15 December 1917 at Fort Slocum, NY, and trained at the U.S. Aviation School at Kelly Field, Texas, to 20 February 1918.  He was assigned to the 30th Balloon Company until 9 April 1918, then the 18th Balloon Company until discharge at Camp Devens on 21 May 1919.  He served overseas from 21 October 1918 to 3 May 1919. He is buried in Section M, Elmwood Cemetery. 

Possibly grew up at Maplecroft, the B&B built by George Mackie (grandfather?) in 1887 just above the Historical Society.
