The Veterans of Military Affairs were donated Historical Books that were given to the United States Veterans for their part in the Korean Conflict. The Historical adventure was a collaboration with The United States and Korea. The books, a Coin and an invitation application to Fly to Washington DC to visit their Memorials, sponsored by Utah Honor Flight, were wrapped by Linda M. Edwards of the Provo Post 13 American Legion Auxiliary and were then delivered to their homes personally by her and Americanism Chairman Randy D. Edwards. The timely Christmas delivery was accepted with humility, gratitude and honor to the Korean Veterans. As the books were delivered surprise and honor were shown as tears were shared by the unexpected gifts from a grateful nation. As much is not spoken of Korean War Veterans they leave a legacy that were historical in the lives of the Korean people and the movement of governmental and international war tactics. MASH units were formed, Helicopter MEDVAC units were employed, and more MIA and POWS were recorded and still missing from any war.
Below are the local heroes from Post 13 that were recognized and honored.

VETERANS TRIBUTE TO THE KOREAN WAR
Thank you for your Service to the Korean War and it’s 60th Anniversary.
In Appreciation for your Sacrifice and Service enclosed are mementos and gratitude from our Community and The American Legion, Dean Mendenhall, Provo Post #13.
It is important that we recognize the most significant Conflict ever fought and known to History as “Silent War.” This conflict gave more than any war in History and one that still has never been officially declared over. Your generation gave us the use of helicopters in evacuation of injured Soldiers, Mash units, the largest loss of life and POW’s and MIA’s ever recorded in the history of war. Still the most significant the most MIA’s still unaccounted for in history. Your Service during the Korean War is recognized by those of us, The American Legion, Provo Post #13 and we Thank you for this Legacy in History. I personally am Honored and Privileged to walk in your midst and considered your Brother in Arms.
For God and Country
