Comrades Provo Post 13
Summer is over. Department and National Conventions are over and the 2013 –2014 year begins. Our first regular meeting will begin September 11,2013, at 7 PM, 51 South University Ave., Old Historic Courthouse. Ball Room. Handicap Entrance is on the south end of the entrance and there are two elevators to the Ballroom.
We will be having our Boys and Girls Stators giving their Reports. They will be receiving another $50.00 Scholarship check for their attendance.
Gordon Ewell will be our Guest Speaker. Gordon is Author of “Dung in My Foxhole.” Gordon has the most uplifting look on life even after surviving several IED’s. Gordon has been featured on Television with several interviews of his military experiences. No one can appreciate the freedom and liberties than he. Gordon understands and has paid the price of responsibility to our country.
Light Refreshments will be served…..Public is invited and Cost is Free.
Congratulations to Andrew Howard our new Post Commander. As you are aware I have been elected Department Commander for 2013 –2014. It would be an injustice to this position and the Department to hold both positions. To give the Department my 100% attention it requires it is important that we take this administrative action. Commander Howard has offered his time, talents and energy to take this position with the advice and support of our leadership in this decision. For the good of The Legion I am excited with this selection we approved. I will be actively engaged with Commander Howard and look forward to his leadership. We are honored to find such leadership to take the helm of our post as we enter the Centennial of The American Legion 2019. Our legacy is being forged as we approach out next 100 years……
