Post 61 was established on 27 February 2010, Incorporated on 11 August 2010 and Chartered on 25 December 2010. Founders Joe Johnson and Ron Diener envisioned a fellowship of Veterans who wanted to make a difference by serving the Legion’s Pillars; Americanism, Mentoring Youth, Fostering a Strong National Security, Taking Care of Veterans and Community Service while Promoting Patriotism and Honor. Thanks to their commitment and leadership Post 61 has and will continue to accomplish The American Legion mission.
