Leadership provided by Mayor Kenny Weldon and Jason Vranes, Military Science professor at Tarleton State University (TSU) brought together personnel from TSU ROTC Dept., City of Stephenville, Veteran Organizations (VSO'S), Local National Guard Unit and Army soldiers from Fort Hood to plan Stephenville's First Annual Texan Veteran Celebration Week. Turnbow-Higgs Post 240 Commander, Roger Easter was present for all but one of the planning sessions held at the City Offices. The Celebration began on Wednesday with TSU ROTC Department presenting 'VETERANS REMEMBER OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM' program. Veterans of the Iraq operation spoke of their experiences and took questions from the audience. The activities culminated on Saturday with Stephenville's first Veteran Parade in forty years. The parade assembled at The City Park and ended at TSU Football Stadium where veterans were treated to food followed by a Football game.
