At its regular third Tuesday business meeting on August 21, 2018, Turnbow-Higgs American Legion Post 240 ratified a resolution naming C. H. ‘Mickey’ Maguire Jr. a Post 240 Honorary Life Member.

The resolution was submitted by Past Commander, Roger Easter, in Honor of Mickey becoming, on July 1, 2018, the longest continuous service member (71-yrs) in Post 240 History.

Mickey’s Post 240 longevity record is likely to go unchallenged and remain intact forever in the annals of Post 240 History. It is an honor and a privilege to pay tribute to this WWII Army Commander and Purple Heart recipient. His continuous service and support of The American Legion has and will continue to be appreciated and demands special recognition in the recording of Post 240 History.

Turnbow-Higgs American Legion Post 240 located in Stephenville, TX was chartered by the United States Congress in 1920. In its 98-year history only thirteen Post 240 members have been recognized by Post 240 membership as Honorary Life Members.
