John Berry Rogers (May 25, 1919 – July 2, 2017)(98), was a Turnbow-Higgs Post 240 Honorary life and its longest serving member at 71 years (1946-2017).

Stephenville - Services for John Berry Rogers 98, a retired industrial engineer, were held at 10:00 a. m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Sharon Curry officiating. Burial followed with Military Honors and Masonic Rites at Chalk Mountain Cemetery. Visitation was held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

John was born in Quanah, Texas on May 25, 1919 to James and Merwyn Griffith Rogers. He married Elsie Marie Melton on Nov. 12, 1939, in Stephenville. She preceded him in death on April 8, 2013.
John was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and the American Legion Post 240 in Stephenville. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. John was also a member of Chalk Mountain Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his daughters, Eva Marie Rogers, of Stephenville; Clellamay Loveless of Houston and Kathryn Sue Angell of Stephenville; five grandchildren, Toby Cole Hooper, Kelton Loveless, Brett Loveless, Amanda Martinez and Charlie Angell; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 240.
