Auxiliary Unit 240 members are photographed (L-R) Jean Moon, Joanna Lay, Deecie Jones, Patti Douglas, Karen Bertrand, Kathy Geffre, Jonnie Ratliff and Francine Pratt as they prepare to partake in the Auxiliary Unit 240 presentation of the Annual Cancer survivors celebration at the regular third Tuesday April meal meeting.

Upon entering the Hall, cancer survivors were pinned with a colored ribbon. Some attendees were pinned with multiple ribbons of different colors, the colors representing a specific type of cancer.

Post Commander gaveled the meeting to order at 6:00 PM and Chaplain Leroy Griffin offered prayer. Prayer was followed by Post Commander leading in the singing of the National Anthem. Commander followed with a reading of Post and Auxiliary Unit 240 member April Birthdays after which Chaplain Leroy Griffin led a singing of the Happy Birthday Song. Guest and members then proceeded to the serving line.

Following meal Joanna Lay, Unit 240 secretary and treasurer, presented the Cancer Survivor’s program. She closed with a thoughtful and beautiful poem. She reminded all present of the courage and determination exhibited by cancer survivors in their struggle with this disease.
