Turnbow-Higgs American Legion Post 240 has sponsored a Veterans Day Ceremony at Stephenville Court House Square every year since 1921. This year (November 11, 2013), Master of Ceremony, Post 240 Commander, Roger Easter, introduced guest speaker Mayor Kenny Weldon, Col. Air Force retired, who gave an inspiring and moving tribute to our military past and present.

Tarleton University ROTC led by Col. Jason Vranes, Professor of Military Science, performed Color Guard and Rifle salute duties.

Interbank and Erath County United Way were present and provided the traditional coffee and donuts for early arrivals.

City Park and Recreation employees, as always were on hand early to set up chairs and tables for the event.

Police Department provided traffic control around square.

Jennifer Grandpre of The Chamber of Commerce helped spread the word by producing and excellent flyer/poster and provided all with an outstanding historic photo album of this and other Veteran Appreciation Week events.

Post 240 Commander,Roger Easter, congratulated all for their outstanding participation and issued a huge thank you to all who contributed to making the event successful.
