The Event was held at the Music City Sheraton hotel in Nashville. Staff Sergeant Timothy Bates and First Sergeant Michael Lloyd were the YRRP hosts. Along with representatives of service providers from organizations including the USO, USAA, Humana Military, Tennesee National Guard Family Services and Education offices, and the Veterans Administration; The legionaires met with between 35 to 40 guard members and provided them with information on membership and programs the American Legion offers. Guard members were also provided with the Department of Tennessee contact information so they could contact local posts in their area. Emphasis was placed on the need for the American Legion to recruit younger members in order to carry on the traditions and service of the American Legion. Guard members responded positively to invitation to become new members and appeared very interested in joining.
