February 2017 - member Jeanine Hinkle spoke about REBOOT Combat Recovery and how it helps Veterans of all backgrounds. Jeanine is also our County Veterans Service Officer.

 

February 2017 - Middle Tennessee Commander Larry Kersey spoke to the post and congratulated us for achieving our membership goal! What a great evening.

 

The highlight of our January meeting was hearing from four wonderful local students about their TN Boys State experiences. Thank you so much to Jake, Dawson, Jacob, and Daniel (and their families) for joining us and being a part of our meeting. Young men and women like these are the reason we raise funds to support our local students!

November 2016 - Carson Siegieski of Centennial High School spoke to us about his experience at the MOWW Youth Leadership Conference. Our post sponsored Carson, and we couldn't be prouder of this great young man!

 

March 2016 - At our March meeting, we love to celebrate the American Legion's birthday. This week, we even had cake to mark 97 years of this wonderful organization!2016

 

At our February 2016 stated meeting, we were honored to have our District 6 American Legion - TN Acting Commander, Deidre Tyer, to speak with us on District and Department happenings. She strongly encouraged us to participate in more conferences and events to represent our Post. She also provided useful information and tips for women Veterans and ways to improve our outreach to local schools and students.

15 Sept 2015 Historian Jim Willis was recognized and he summarized what he has been doing regarding the Post History

 

15 Sept 2015 Robin Jones was recognized and gave a report on the Art on the Fly Fest. All proceeds went to We Are Building Lives (WABL).

 

15 Sept 2015 One of the guests at our meeting on Tuesday was Middle Tennessee Vice Commander Bobby Ferrell. He thanked the Post for the warm welcome and comments touched on need for dues increase, membership, VA Hospital care, and National convention proceedings.

 

18 Aug 2015 Our guest speaker last night was Dr. Wesley Smith (USA Ret.) who served for three years as a chaplain working with Mortuary Affairs at Dover AFB, receiving the bodies of our nation's KIAs and assisting families.

19 May 2015 program featured Jackie Stanford from Assisted Senior Benefits. Mr. Stanford has been assisting seniors for 20 years, offering help to those trying to navigate VA Aid and Attendance and Medicaid. We also had guests in attendance from Post 215 to hear the program.

18 Nov 2014 The other part of our program on Tuesday night was from Bill Coyne. our Regional Coordinator for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc.. The non-profit organization is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings.

 

18 Nov 2014 The first part of the program was a patriotic presentation by Dave Dunlap, with song, dance, and great background stories behind it all. Dave does great work with MOWW in Huntsville, which puts on an annual Youth Leadership Conference.

 

21 Oct 2014 David Cook Asch shared a talk about his father's book, "The Whole Nine Yards... and then some". COL Alfred Asch was a retired U.S. Air Force officer, and his memoirs are a fascinating read. We are honored to have David visit with us!

On 6 May 2013 Adjutant Jim Howard and Vice Commander Rannie Howell conducted flag etiquette, folding, raising and lowering instructions to a local Cub Scout Pack at the Battelground Academy flag pole.
