Fred E. Lomax was the first veteran killed in action in Lewis County, therefore the naming of the Post. The Post was chartered on January 13, 1922. The first commander was C.L. Voorhies, first Adjutant was Hubert Peery, at the time of chartered there were thirty-three members.
