Post 106 was part of District 2 during the period of inactivity and Dennis Mouldenhour contacted various members of the post trying to stimulate interest in revitalizing the post. In the ensuing months members were contacted, who then formed a fact finding committee to evaluate interest in continuing the Post, letters were sent out to all members on the rolls. Officers were elected during this first meeting, which was held at Sweetwater City Hall due to the Post Home being deeded to Monroe County by the former commander and his executive committee. The officers worked diligently to get the post home and assets returned. In spite of efforts made by the pro-bono attorney to regain the monies distributed, only the post home was returned.
