Members attending this meeting were informed the Post was being dissolved, that all funds were being disbursed to Sweetwater City non-profit organizations and that it was recommended members transfer to other Posts in the area. This was done in spite of the fact that the commander was told to either merge with another post in the area or turn over all assets to the Southeastern District for them to find interested Legionnaires to revitalize the post. At this time most post records were destroyed, no financial records were found (the IRS requires at least 7 years retention).
