In the fall of 1927, the post moved into the hall above the old Bockoven Drug store which today (2016) is the site of Ken’s Grocery. They remained there until 1947 when they moved into a building they had purchased in 1933. While it is not known to the writer, it is assumed that they bought the property as a source of income as records show rental income from the property. The last known business before they moved into the building was the Five and Dime Variety store. The building was a joint venture between the Legion and the ladies of the Auxiliary, who formed the American Legion and Auxiliary Holding Corporation. The building was deeded to them on the 23rd day of February, 1933. In addition to the variety store, the second floor was a rooming house and was rented out by the week or the month. It also housed one apartment which was occupied by the individual who managed the rooming house.

The building located below the arrow, was the home of Cagley-Smith Post from 1947-1981
