The 31 May 2016 presentation of the uniform patch ceremonially marked the return of American Legion Baseball to Custer. The Custer Post 46 team conducted its first practice that morning at the Custer East Athletic Field Facility next to Custer Jr/Sr High School. Its first scheduled game is a double header at Kadoka on 12 June 2016 and its first home game is scheduled for 06 July 2016 versus Martin.
So just a few days following Independence Day “play ball” will again be heard for American Legion Baseball in Custer. Our boys of summer will be back on the field. It will be an American picture...America the way it used to be, should be, and still is in Custer, South Dakota.
