The Pound-Uhre Post received its charter March 30, 1945. The former McKinley Pound Post 210 was organized and chartered in 1920, and became inactive in 1933, to be reorganized in 1945 as Pound-Uhre Post.
The post was named in honor of McKinley Pound, World War I, and Dale Uhre, World War II. McKinley Pound was born October 30 1896, and enlisted in the US Army March 7, 1917. He became a private first class in the 10th Field Artillery. He was killed in action in the Meuse-Argonne offensive on October 25, 1918. Dale Uhre was born July 6, 1918, and enlisted in the US Navy in November 1940. He became a MM1c on the US McCouley and was killed in action in June 1943 in the Guadalcanal Zone.
