Congratulations to Chase Oakley for having been selected by American Legion Post 74 to attend Palmetto Boys State in June 2020.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the residency event was cancelled.  However, by registering, he was recognized as an official delegate.  Chase will receive a Certificate of Selection, a copy of the Proclamation signed by S. C. Department Commander Richardson, a Boys State T-shirt, graduation cord for his 12th grade ceremony in 2021, and a lapel pin.

American Legion Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for U. S. high school students and is sponsored by the American Legion. Only males who have successfully completed their junior year of high school and who have at least one more semester remaining are considered.

Participants are selected who illustrate leadership, character, scholarship, loyalty and service in their schools and community.
