The Shippensburg Area Senior High School hosted its 10th annual Veterans Day breakfast and program. During this program five people were honored with the Chaple of the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Award all of whom are members of the American Legion Post 223. Pictured left to right are: Guy Hayslett, Jim Clever, Rich Baum, (Gene Furry absent), Mrs. Virginia Lopez and Robert Harris retired Franklin County Veterans Affairs Service Officer and trustee of the Chaple of the Four Chaplains. Post members Guy, Jim, Rich and Gene were given this prestigious award for their service to their post, honor guard and the Shippensburg community. Mrs. Vitginia Lopez an Auxiliary member of post 223, social studies teacher, organizer and the host of the program for ten years. Mrs. Lopez was honored with the award for hosting this program for the past ten years showing her support for the Veterans of the Shippensburg community and the military. Mrs. Lopez has had fund raisers for the Fisher House, the Wounded Warriors Project and fund raisers to raise money for students in need of school lunches and warm jackets. Mrs. Virginia Lopez is considered by the veterans of the community to be a true Patriot and a proud American.
