Dick Guyer Commander of the American Legion Post 223, presents a check for $5,000.00 to Eathan Serr, museum director at the Shippensburg Historical Society. The money raises the American Legion’s total donation to $10,000.00 for a restoration project at God’s Acre Cemetery, located on North Prince Street in Shippensburg.

The cemetery dates back to the 1700’s and it includes the graves of soldiers from the Shippensburg area, including 14 who fought in the Revolutionary War, 12 in the war of 1812 and two in the civil war. The restoration project is being done by the historical society of Shippensburg.
