American Legion Post 223 Commander Dick Guyer and the VFW Post 6168 Commander Floyd Mooney joined together to raise funds needed to restore war memorials at the Shippensburg Veterans Memorial Park. The mortar was falling out of the joints holding the brick and stone together. Scott Cooper that has been in masonry work since 1983 was contacted to make necessary repairs. Scott replaced the mortar and reset the bricks and stone on the memorials and then gave all memorials a environmental friendly acid wash cleaning years of grime from the surfaces.
