Elmcroft assisted living of Shippensburg held a flag raising ceremony, May 22, to honor veterans and commemorate the facility's 10th anniversary in the Shippensburg community.

The Shippensburg Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223 donated flagpoles and an American flag to the Elmcroft facility and state representative Rob Kauffman, R-89, donated a state flag, both of which were raised by veterans residing at Elmcroft with the help of Post 223 Commander Dick Guyer and Past Commander Tom Everett. Both Guer and Everett spoke with each veteran, thanking them for their service.

Veterans living at Elmcroft of Shippensburg include from left, seated in front, Ray Cummings, Robert Gochneauer, Sam Martin, Richard Reed, Elwood Linn, Kenneth McCrae and Everett Drury; standing in back, from left, are Darius Rice, Frank Major, Vernon Stephens and Scott Carpenter.
