Shippensburg's two veterans' organizations split the cost of purchasing eight U.S. flag banners that were hung downtown Shippensburg. making the presentation are Glen Glessner, past commander and adjutant of VFW Post 6168; Dick Guyer American Legion Post 223 Commander; and VFW Junior Vice Commander John Reed support the flag, while borough employee Kevin Plaster prepares to position the banner on its post. The banners, hung on the north side of King Street, compliment yellow ribbons tied to light posts. The banners will fly until July 5, when the annual Corn Festival banners will be hung.
