Past Commanders

The American Legion Post 223 holds annual Past Commanders celebration to
honor all past commanders and 50 and 60 year members. Lt. Commander Mark S.
Reed, USN retired, a Shippensburg State College graduate was the guest
speaker. Past commanders of Post 223 present at the celebration were Tom
Everett, Ken Coleman, Dave Burd, Freddie Maley, Leroy Martin, Donnie
Rhinehart Jr. Bill Sowers, Woody Stitt and Ben Brechbiel.
Commander Donnie Rhinehart presented 50 year certificates and pins to the
following members that had obtained 50 years service to the American Legion
and they were Robert J. Gochenauer, Carl Jumper, Roger E. Myers, Frank R.
Lerew Jr., Dale Yocum, Brinton C. Comerer, Kenneth Coleman, George Rae, Ben
Brecbiel, James A. Parr and Bennett R. Bard.
Commander Rhinehart presented Tom Enderlein, post member, the Commander's
Appreciation Award.
