Tommy Everett was unanimously endorsed by the post as a candidate for Cumberland County Commander for the 1984-1985 term.
A $25.00 check was given to the 1983 Shippensburg Fair Qeen contestant Debbie Chamberlin.
A budget of $1884.00 was approved for the Jr. American Legion Baseball Team.
A $25.00 donation was made to the Korean War Statue Commission and a donation of $100.00 was made to the Girls Softball Team.

It was announced that the post would be sending three boys to Pennsylvania State Police Youth Week.
A $25.00 donation was given to the Shippensburg Historical Society.

Post 223 paid for the construction of a blocking sled for the American Legion Midget Football Team.
The post will provide a banquet for the Girls Softball Team.
Death Benefit of $150.00 was paid to the beneficiary of Paul Hockenberry.

Seventeen jackets were purchased by the post for the Midget Football Team at a cost of $5.00 each.
October 6, 1983
Death Benefits of $150.00 each was paid to the beneficiaries of Paul Yohe, Creeden S. Bodkins and Herman Walker. $200.00 was donated to the Shippensburg Historical Society and trophies were purchased for the Midget Football Team at a cost of $76.00.
November 3, 1983
$25.00 donation was made to the Maroon and Gray football Club, $100.00 to the Shippensburg Veterans Council and $50.00 for Christmas Party at the Lebanon Veterans Hospital.
Tickets were purchased by the post at a cost of $18.00 each for the Auxiliary sponsored children's show.

Commander Martin was given the approval to shop around for a TV for the Scotland School for Veterans hospital ward.
