The post donated a 4x6 American flag to the J.W. Kline Elementary School.

Commander Everett announced that the post sponsored spring dance at Scotland School for Veterans Children was a complete success eith Soul music by "Juice".
$25.00 was donated to the Shippensburg Veterans Council to buy signs for the Memorial Day parade cars.
May 5, 1979
Death Benefits of $150.00 was paid to each of the beneficiaries of Charles Ulrich and Kenneth Miller "Past Commander" of the post.
Post donated $25.00 to the Doughboy Statue at Department Headquarters.
Post 223 is sending Mike Cramer, Scott Goodhart and Bradford Allen Taylor to Keystone Boys State.
A $25.00 donation was made to the Little League Baseball for a sign at the field.

Post donated ceremonial rifles to the Senior High School Color Guard at a cost of $60.00.
December 6, 1979
Mike Payne of the Shippensburg State Teachers College spoke on behalf of the students who would demonstrate in support of President Carter on the Iran crisis. The poste was asked to participate and donate 250 flags to be used in the rally.
The Post Color Guard attended the God Bless America Day in Harrisburg with the Governor.
