Post 223 booked the band "Tender Touch" for the Scotland School Spring dance.
Two bowling teams from the post were sponsored to participate in the bowling tournament at Nelli Fox Lanes in Chambersburg at a cost of $96.90 per team.

Post announced they will sponsor one girl to Keystone Girls State at a cost of $65.00.
A donation of $100.00 was made to the Shippensburg Veterans Council for the Memorial Day Parade.
The post donated a 3x5 American flag to the Marching Raiders Majorette group of Shippensburg.

Post received a letter from Department Hoak informing the post that the local news paper won the American Legion Public Relations Award for the 2nd consecutive year and that Post 223 was runner up in the award for the posts.

Death Benefits of $150.00 each be paid to the beneficiaries of Hilton Russell, Donald Shoap, Thomas Kling and John Swanger.
Karen Plumb was awarded $25.00 cash for her participation as the post's contestant in the Shippensburg Fair Queen Contest.
$360.00 was donated to the Jr. American Legion baseball team for expenses to play in the Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball playoffs held in York, Pa.

Post 223 paid magazine subscriptions for three years for the following Libraries: State Teachers School, Senior High School, Jr. High school and the Shippensburg Public Library.

Midget Legion Redskins Football banquet will be held in the post home November 15, 1978 players and cheerleaders will eat free and parents will pay $2.50 for their meal.
