The Shippensburg Veterans Council made up of the VFW Post 6168, the Oscar M. Hykes Post 223 American Legion, and the Fort Morris Barracks, World war 1, held a brief memorial service for Gen. Dwight David Eisenhower on a Sunday afternoon. Conducting the service were, in the center of the picture, left to right, Rev. Forest Wiest, pastor of the First Church of God, who offered the invocation, Rev. William J Turner, Veterans Council chaplain, who presented the eulogy, and Dr. Edward P. Turnbach, minister of Memorial Lutheran Church, who presented the benediction. They are flanked by American Legion Post 223 Minutemen and the VFW Post 6168 Colors and Guard.
