Veterans Council meeting held January 11, 1965 for election of officers for the council at the VFW Post 6168.
February, 1965
Death Benefit of $100.00 was paid to Mrs. Elsie Hall, beneficiary of Wesley Kauffman a member in good standing.
Kenneth Rhone was elected Senior Vice Commander of the Cumberland County Council to replace Michael Shaner.
March, 1965
Past commanders night 18 March 1965:
Past Commander Lee Myers Jr. was the Toastmaster for the evening. Lee introduced all Past Commanders present and asked them to share their stories of their terms of commanders.
Commander Berk Winters led a special Post Everlasting for the immediate Past Commander Michael Shaner, this ceremony was enjoyed by all present and was handled very excellent by the Minutemen and officers of the Post.
Special guest for the evening was Department Commander Monroe Bethman and Department Sgt at Arms. Commander spoke on the closing of Veterans Hospitals and asked all veterans to support legislation to keep them open.
April, 1965

May 31st-1:15 P.M. Navy Marine Service at the Branch Bridge
May 31st-1:30 P.M. Parade will form at King and Prince Street and move out at 2:00 P.M.
$25.00 was paid to the Little League to display the American Legion Billboard and $100.00 was donated to the Shippensburg Veterans Council to help defray cost of Memorial day activities.
$300.00 was donated by the Post for new uniforms for the Junior American Legion Baseball team.
Death Benefit of $100.00 was paid to the beneficiary of Austin Millhouse.
May, 1965
$20.00 was donated to Kenneth Miller from the Funeral Fund to help defray the costs of burial of his son.
Memorial Services in Shippensburg and communities were a huge success.
June, 1965
A donation of $10.00 was made to the C.V Hose Company
Two young men going to Keystone Boy's State are John Frank sponsored by the Lions Club and James Pettys sponsored by Post 223

November, 1965
It was announced that Veterans Day services will be held at the Shippensburg High School Thursday morning November 11th, 1965at 9:40 A.M.
The Christmas Dinner for the children from Cumberland County at the Scotland School for Veterans Children will be held on Saturday evening Dec. 18th at 5:30 P.M.
The spring dance will be held at Scotland School for Veterans Children Friday evening march 11th, 1966 from 8:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M. with the Don Peebles Orchestra.
