Comrade w. H Eckenrode reported that the children of Comrade Ziegler buried 19th of March 1943, were admitted to the Pennsylvania Soldiers Orphans School at Scotland. Comrade Guy Cramer reported that the 40 & 8 had raised some money to purchase playing cards for sending to boys in the service. The 40 & 8 was a branch of the American Legion. It took the name 40 & 8 from the box cars used on French railroads during WW1 that could transport 40 men or 8 horses.
