Commander R.V Mitten appointed Comrades E.J Wynkoop, R.W Lemaster, and Fred Varner to set up a home guard in Shippensburg as a part of the home defense during World War 11. Henry Luhrs chairman of the Shippensburg Home Defense was notified of the Legions move.
