Roselynn J. Utech, age 95, longtime resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in Ponca City. While her casket will be closed, friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 26 from 8:00am - 5:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Deva Undralla officiating. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Percy at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. Roselynn was born on July 30, 1922 to Otto and Carolyn Geers in Quincy, IL. She was raised in Quincy, IL. After completing high school and college, she joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 before being honorably discharged in 1946. Following her naval service, Roselynn was married to Percy Evans Utech on April 12, 1947 in Quincy. Later, the family moved to Ponca City where both Roselynn and Percy worked for Conoco. While in Ponca City, Roselynn showed her passion as an advocate for U.S. military veterans, becoming active in the American Legion eventually serving as the only female Oklahoma State Commander of the American Legion. Roselynn's faith was another important element of her life as she was a long time faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include her children John Utech of Ponca City and Donna Marie Williams and husband Dale of Baraboo, WI; grandchildren Sharon Utech of Denver, CO, Ciara Miller and husband Mark of Grant County, OK, Kent Zuber and wife Gwen of Aurora, CO, as well as Kristina Zuber of San Francisco, CA, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Roselynn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother George Geers and sister Edna Deterle
