July 7, 2012 was a very sad day in the history of Post 2. The building had been shutttered and was no longer in active use as there was simply not enough funding available to keep up with maintenence and the needed repairs, and then it happened.
The roof collapsed and fell inward and came to rest lying on the floor! All Post 2's belongings and memorabilia were now exposed to the elements and to make matters worse, rain was in the extended forecast.
