Throughout the 1950's many activities took place at the "Veterans Building". Radio station KVOO routinely made their Noon Brodcast live outside the bldg., and it was home to Tri-County Fair Exhibits at the annual fair.

Numerous Civic Groups used the building for meetings and events, and the veterans hosted regular "sock-Hops" and dances, along with regular weekend breakfasts and fried fish dinners.

The Post was a central hub and gathering place for the citizens of Collinsville, and much loved asset to the community!
