Corporal John Daniels was KIA in September of 1918. His body was buried at a location in France known only by it's map co-ordinates and referred to as "Isolated Graves", and remained there until 18 JUN 1919.

His remains were then dis-interred and taken to the American Cemetery at St. Mihiel, France for proper burial.

On 18 APR 1921 his remains were once again dis-interred, then prepared for shipment from Europe to the United States. The shipment began 05 May 1921 leaving from Antwerp by boat, bound for Hoboken, NJ and arrived there on 23 May 1921. Then coninuing on from Hoboken on 06 JUN 1921 bound for Collinsville, OK arriving there on 28 JUL 1921. Three months and twenty three days in transit.

Upon arrival in Collinsville his remains were turned over to American Legion Post 2. The Legionnaires of Post 2 provided a Military Funeral with Honors that included a caisonn drawn by six horses accompanied by an armed rifle squad, and a rifle salute for his flag draped casket. as he was laid to final rest in Collinsville's Ridgelawn Cemetery.
