James Robert "Bob" Wills of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a musician, songwriter, bandleader, and U.S. Army war veteran, joined Post 129 on this date. He entered military service in December, 1942 at age 37, and was medically discharged in the summer of 1943. He played regularly on a Tulsa radio station, toured with the "Texas Playboys" and was widely known as the "King of Western Swing."
