O'Brien Post 326 of Shelby now places over 1,300 flags for each Memorial Day. Post members, Boy Scouts and community are invited to help each year.

Post 326 Member Ed Schumacher with grandchildren always makes flag placement a family event. Ed is a Vietnam Vet, Serves on the Richland County Joint Burial Squad and is a charter member of Post 326 Legion Riders.
Past Auxiliary President, Linda Fichter places flags May 2018. Linda now serves as Chair for the Shelby Memorial Association .
2023 Several Shelby High School members came as a group to help with flag placements. The Legion places over 1,300 flags in Oakland Cemetery and St. Mary's Cemetery.
