O'Brien Post 326 of Shelby now places over 1,300 flags for each Memorial Day. Post members, Boy Scouts and community are invited to help each year. Members of Shelby Troop 406 help each year. Far right is Post 326 member and Scout Master, Mike Cyphert. Mike was loadmaster at the 179th Airlift Wing, in Mansfield Ohio.. Thanks to all that come to help with the tasks of setting and collecting. Please join us in the coming years, it is a good feeling to honor our local Veterans.

 

 

Post 326 Member Ed Schumacher with grandchildren always makes flag placement a family event. Ed is a Vietnam Vet, Serves on the Richland County Joint Burial Squad and is a charter member of Post 326 Legion Riders.

2023 Several Shelby High School members came as a group to help with flag placements. The Legion places over 1,300 flags in Oakland Cemetery and St. Mary's Cemetery.
