The American Legion O'Brien Post 326 of Shelby helped Support the September 19, 2017, ground breaking event of fellow Post Member Nicholas J. Vogt's new home built by the Gary Sinise Foundation R I S E Program and was present with the colors for the July 13, 2018, opening of the new smart home.

 

 

"At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. We do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen and build communities'..... This is the mission statement of the Gary Sinise Foundation, as stated in his book "Grateful American'
