On Saturday, December 21, 2024 we celebrated our Annual Founder’s Day and the 100th Anniversary as Charles T. Norwood American Legion Post 157. The Post was chartered December 19, 1924, five years after the National American Legion received its Congressional Charter.
The Post celebrated with our fellow Legionnaires, family, and friends at the North Raleigh Hilton Hotel in Raleigh, NC. We were truly grateful for the camaraderie!!
The Daily Taps Program remembers and honor those who served with a personalized Sounding Of Taps. Every day without fail, at 5pm Eastern, Taps sounds at the National World War I Memorial in Washington, DC in honor of our nation’s heroes.
This unique Daily Taps Ceremony pays tribute to all who have served in the armed forces of the United States, and those who perished in the ‘war that changed the world. So that these heroes are never forgotten, the Daily Taps Program offers a unique opportunity to dedicate a personalized sounding of Taps for your loved veteran, on a day of your choosing.
The Doughboy Foundation certified that Taps at National World War I Memorial in Washington, DC was sounded in honor of WWI Veteran Private Charles T. Norwood; namesake of the Charles T. Norwood American Legion Post 157; honored the post’s Centennial Anniversary. Honored on December 19, 2024.
