Post Commander James Langston, 1st Vice Commander Gabriel Carr, Historian James Whitaker, Legionnaire Joe Holt and Ladies Auxiliary Unit Vice President Mrs. Geneva Langston manned the Veterans display table, to help publicize the existence of our historic Charles T. Norwood American Legion Post 157.
One of the charter members (founders) of Post 157 was World War I Veteran John Jerome Turner who lived in Oberlin Village. The house where he lived, at 1002 Oberlin Road, has been officially designated as Historic property and is known as the Historic John T. and Mary Turner House. Also, between World War I and the Vietnam Era, more than 125 Oberlin men and women served our nation in uniform. “Credit: Legionnaire Joe Holt”.
