
On June 19, 2021 the post monthly meeting was called to order, and the order of business was conducted to include a ceremony for the Installation of Post Officers. We were honored to have guest in attendance. Guest included Post 157 Auxiliary Members, Changin Lanez RDU Chapter Car Club, Mrs Nia Cassidy and her Daughter Kiara, Michael Donnelly of Franklinton Post 52 Candidate for NC Department Commander 2022-2023 and his wife Carolyn Donnelly the Department Division II President, Devell “Bo” Durham, Past District 11 Commander, family members and friends.
The Installing Officer Devell “Bo” Durham, Past District 11 Commander honored the Post by swearing in the newly elected and reelected officers. He then took control of the meeting informed the Sergeant-at-arms to bring forward newly elected officers to be installed or reinstalled. He read the oath of office to the newly elected officers as they took the pledge to perform faithfully and impartially the duties of the office in The American Legion that they assume.
The Installing Officer Devell “Bo” Durham thanked and congratulated us on our accomplishments being that we are a smaller Post and gave us many words of encouragement. He turned the meeting over to the Newly reelected Post Commander. The Sergeant-at-Arms escorted each officer-elect to their respective station. Post Commander Moses continued with the order of business for the day.
Changin Lanez RDU Chapter Car Club was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for their help with the meeting set up, teardown and grilling of food for today's presentation and Celebration of the first Juneteenth National Holiday.
Mrs Nia Cassidy and her Daughter Kiara was presented with a Shadow Box of her father’s medals. The Post also presented her with The American Flag for her father at a previous Memorial Day Celebration.
