On June 2021 The General Assembly Of North Carolina Session 2021 and the North Carolina House session convened at 4pm in the Legislative Building to vote on House Bill 83: Eliminate Income Tax for Military Retirees. 
     During that session Representative John Szoka debated HB 83 on it’s 2nd and 3rd reading. Rep. Szoka wanted the military well represented on that day in support of the HB 83 bill.
     Members of Charles T. Norwood Post 157 was in attendance along with several other veterans in support of the HR 83 bill.      The bill to eliminate income Taxes for military retirement pay has passed the State House. House Bill 83, won approval June 16 2021 with a 100-5 vote.
