On January 27, 2021 POST 157 wanted to recognize the Overture Centennial Community because they were very special and supportive to our fundraising mission.

In November 2020 the Cary, North Carolina Department Store Belk had what they called the Belk's Charity Day Sale where they offer big discounts to their customers and for the tickets that are sold the funds raised are donated to the Charities that participated in the event.

The Residents and Staff members at Overture Centennial a 55+ Apartment Homes Community in Raleigh, North Carolina stepped up in a big way. Because of their generosity we had a very successful event.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to the Residents and Staff of the Overture Centennial Community for their support and donations in our fundraising event.

One of the residents Ms. Barbara Erickson was very generous in purchasing the Belk’s Charity Day tickets and donating to the Post Fund. She was presented with The American Legion Coin that read: American Legion on the front and POST 157 THANK YOU for supporting our veterans on the back of the coin.

As we never stop recruiting for new members, we added a new member to the Post 157 roster. A resident at Overture Centennial, Legionnaire Ronell Brown Sr transferred from a post in Virginia to our post here in North Carolina. He has been an American Legion member since 2009. He was recognized and welcomed during the presentation.

Pictured L to R: Legionnaire Gabriel Carr Post Adjutant, Legionnaire James Whitaker Post Historian, Mrs Sara Daniel Overture Centennial Manager, Mr Tomo Brown Events Coordinator and Post Commander Donald Moses.
