The Monsignor was the first American Legion Commander when the War Veterans of America voted to join the newly formed Department of New York American Legion. He was a charter member and major force in John B. Lyman Post 904 for years after its founding. He was a major force in the Catholic Church during that time as well. Served In WWI as a chaplain and was Post 904's first as well.
