            At meeting held January 29th at Fireman’s Hall it was decided to remove the snow from the building site and get an idea where the lines were and also an estimate on materials was given by Comrade Britton

            A joint meeting with the Auxiliary was held and during the business meeting it was learned from the Finance Officer that our Legion is very much in debt; then followed a discussion on ways and means of raising money.

            Hot Dogs were sold at the ice races and $56 was cleared.  The Easter Dance is to be a full dress Military Ball.  All members requested to wear uniforms.  A communication from the Alexandria Bay chamber asked the Legion if they might move the building they have purchased for an office from its present site on Church St. to the front of the Legion Lot.  The Post decided it would not care to have the building on front of their lot. 

            Dr. Owen Gillick was at the March 8th meeting to bid farewell to the Comrades as he is leaving the area to open dental offices in Niagara Falls.  He extends an invitation to all who attend the State Convention there to stop in and see him.

            A committee of L.L. Britton, C. Jones and T. Collins was appointed to go before the village board in regard to public service station which is to be erected in the village.  The Legion would like the station on their lot if the town would grade up the lot according to the Legion’s wishes. 

            At the February meeting the Post accepted a bid of $340 from B.P. Thompson for installation of heating plant.  A motion was made and carried that every member of the post lend $5 to the Post to help pay for the heating plant.

            At the October 25, 1926 meeting the Legionnaires voted to have club rooms open to receive election returns by radio on November 2nd.  A show committee of L.L. Britton, R. Haas, F. G. Lyman, Ross Lillie, and Fred Bain.  The show was held in January and cleared $144.

            Comrade Britton was authorized to negotiate with the telephone co. in regard to purchasing Legion Lot.

            Motion was made and carried that the Post get a flag pole made of wood and 60 feet high to be placed on Walton Street Entrance facing Market Street.  However, the committee was unable to obtain an electric drill for the concrete work so the project will be held up.  A movie the World War was held in the convention hall on April 21 and 22nd which netted $46.50

            The Legion ordered flag poles and sold to business operators to place flags outside their places of business.

            A committee was appointed to interview unit in regard to completing basement.

            Armistice Day Dance cleared $11.45 and Thanksgiving Dance netted $21.50 for the post.  A unit improvement Committee was appointed.

            Mrs. Weller was approached about using the Theatre for a show but she stated that the license would not permit the Legion to have shows but she would be glad to let the Post put on a vaudeville.

            Comrade Hunt resigned as Adjutant and Comrade Jones with help from Comrade Quincer and Bain will replace him.

            It was voted by the post to give a medal to the boy attaining the highest grade from 4 years of high school.

            Comrade Reynolds mad motion and it was seconded by Blevins and carried that the Post pay the Building Fund $25 each month in advance together with the $200 received by the Town of Alexandria to make payment on contract each year.

            It was voted that the Legion paint the name of our town upon the roof of some building suitable for aviation identification.  It was decided to paint it in yellow with 6ft. high letters on the roof of the Crossman House.

            The Ladies Auxiliary was invited by the “Frolic Committee” of the Legion to attend the January 28th meeting; Seventeen of their members attended and Fourteen Legion Members.

            On February 11th an old fashion dance was held in the Legion rooms put on by a party of individuals bringing their own lunch and orchestra John Patchin and Commander Lee mad the arrangements.

            The Post voted to purchase a Ford car and dispose of same as a way to make money for the Post building fund.

            At March 29th meeting Ross Lillie was appointed to attend to putting doors on cupboard in kitchen as requested by Ladies Auxiliary. Next three scheduled meetings were omitted due too insufficient members present.

            At May 27th meeting a committee was appointed to place flags on all soldier’s graves and also to place a wreath on graves of World War Veterans.

            Fifth District William Prescott of Pulaski attended the October 14th meeting.  Prior to the meeting a supper was put on by the Ladies auxiliary.  The officers for the coming year were installed by Commander Prescott. 

            Comrade Fred Bain was hired as janitor for $10 per month.  Motion was made and carried that the Legion buy fittings and pipe to hook up hotel water boiler to furnace.  Comrade Bain offered to do necessary work free of charge.

            The John B. Lyman Legion post attended the school Armistice Day Program on November 11th in a body.
