As the Town of Carroll grew the Post was forced to move from the Town Building.  The Frewsburg Legion had moved from house to house then to the Venman Building, to the Town Hall, to the bowling alley, back to the Town Hall. Harry Kline offered a 1-acre lot on Meadow Lane if the Legion would cover the cost of the title search and other legal fees. Just some of the names who worked on the building project:  Austin, Cass, Payne, Garber, Bullock, Wilder, Stanton, Taft, Spence, Kerr, Wiltsie, Brightman, Carlson, Derby, Barton, Anderson,Blair, Phillips, Swanson, Little, Williams, Kline, Suckow and many more.. The new building was built by Walter Stanton contractor and a lot of volunteer labor by those listed and others.. The first Post meeting was in an unfinished building on July 13, 1949, Robert Payne Commander.  The building was finished during the summer of 1950.

With the building project going on and members a major source of volunteer labor the members still found time to have an American Legion baseball team. This team was in the County League and played at a field near the end of Meadow Lane. This playing field land was donated by Harry Kline and the field expenses paid for by T. James Clark of Jamestown.

Soon after the building was completed, members decided to apply for a liquor license so that members would have a place to hold social activities.  After the liquor permit was granted there was a time when bartenders were volunteers, then, later on, bartenders began to be paid.

Membership increased from around 30 before the new building to 575 some years after the construction was completed.
