County and 7th District Officers, Legionnaires, Auxiliary and guests welcomed the New York State Commander Frank J. Peters of Travis and Department President Diane Gerber of Staten Island to Kirk Casey Post 366, Seneca Falls, for a luncheon held in their honor, at the start of their official visitation to Seneca County. Bob Plate, Post 366 Vice Commander had extended the warmest welcome to the visiting officials.
After a light lunch of chicken noodle soup made by Post member Tom Scott, Chef at the Chiropractic college, and a selected meat tray served by SAL Squadron Commander, Don Johnson. Commander Peters was given a tour and explanation of the Post pictures, lining the walls by Post Historian Buzz Blevins. Mrs. Gerber enjoyed looking through the Post’s Auxiliary History Books.
Also attending the lunch and dinner later this evening were: Stanley Clark, National Executive Committeeman, NYS. Michael Andrews, Vice Commander, 7th and 8th Districts, American Legion. Rene Nessler, 7th District Commander. Barbara Kessel, District Auxiliary President. Charles Depo, SAL Detachment Commander. J. Bruce Rathven, SAL Detachment Vice Commander, 7th and 8th Districts. Daryl Verstreate, Jr. SAL District Commander. Stanley Grela, Commander Seneca County, Martha Grela, Seneca County Auxiliary President. Leslie King Past County Commander and Ida King, Past Auxiliary County President. Fred Percy, District Vice Commander. W. Michael Bowen, Past Department Commander. Coming from work, Post 366 Commander Julie Scott, arrived in time to meet and talk with Commander Peters.
