
Legion Officers In Seneca Falls

National, state and local officers of the American Legion attended the dedication exercises at the new memorial home of Kirk Casey Post in Seneca Falls Sunday. Those in the picture are: 1 - George M. Clancy of Rochester, vice chairman of State American Legion; 2 - Mrs. Louise W. Williams of Tuckahoe, president of State Auxiliary; 3 - State Commander John J. Bennett, Jr. of New York City; 4 - The Rev. George F. Kettell of Macedon, national chaplain; 5 - Commander Barnard T. Luckern of Kirk Casey Post, and 6 - Chester Clark, adjutant of the local post.
STATE LEGION LEADER VISITS SENECA POST - Continuance of Efforts To Help Disabled Veterans Urged--District Chairman Gives Talk. American Legion and auxiliary’s of Seneca County received their official visit last night from John J. Bennett, Jr. of New York City, state commander, at a banquet in the Hotel Gould.
More than 150 members of Kirk Casey Post of Seneca Falls; Warner-Van Riper, Waterloo, Benjamin Franklin, Ovid; their auxiliary’s and friends were present .
Commander Bennett commended the three posts on their work throughout the county and urged the continuance of their efforts to help disabled veterans.
Emmett J. Ryan, Jr. of Seneca Falls, past county commander, was the toastmaster. The invocation was given by the Rev. Eugene S. Mardwell, pastor of the Methodist Church.
Short addresses were given by William L. Hodder of Auburn, chairman of the Seventh District of American Legion; George Clancy of Rochester, vice president of the state organization; Mrs. Jane Gunion of Shortsville, seventh district chairman of the New York State Legion Auxiliary and Mrs. Louis W. Williams of Tuckahoe, president of the state auxiliary.
A vocal solo was sung by Andrew J. McArdle of Seneca Falls.
