No Celebration Armistice Day, November 11th, Officers of Kirk-Casey Post had plans well under way for a celebration of Armistice Day, but the voting on the soldier bonus question throughout the county so displeased many of the service men that the Legion officials have given up the celebration project entirely. The village board was asked Monday night to declare a half holiday for next Thursday, and the request was promptly granted, but all of the plans have been abandoned. Seneca Falls township returned 40 more affirmative votes for the soldier bonus question than negative votes inasmuch as Seneca Falls, and not the county, was the section for which the celebration was planned, the service men should have proceeded with their celebration plans but they elected to do otherwise. If there is any observance of Armistice Day it will be spontaneous. It is quite probable that church bells and shop whistles will make note of the hour, 11 A.M., when the World War armistice went into effect

The fight for veterans benefits, the bonus, and hospitals would continue for the next two decades. Although most of the concerns that the returning veteran had would be answered, not until the 1940's when the "GI Bill of Rights" was passed by the Congress and Senate, would the veteran finally have the benefit package that was promised at the end of World War One.
